Appearing warts on the face, feet, genitals and other parts of the body cause discomfort when walking, having sex, aesthetic dissatisfaction with the appearance. Warts are considered a viral skin disease that indicates a weakened immune system. These skin growths also tend to spread and enlarge, which is why wart treatment is necessary. Warts are usually neither painful nor dangerous, but when they appear in a visible place, for example, on the hands, face or neck, they look unaesthetic, and when they grow on the sole, they can cause discomfort when walking. Therefore, it is very natural that we want to get rid of them as soon as possible. In order to do this, surgical procedures are not necessary. For this, we can use liquid nitrogen, otherwise known as “cold” therapy (cryotherapy), or a laser.
Who is this procedure suitable for?
If you have warts that you want to remove, then wart removal can probably be done for you. The procedure is not performed on pregnant and lactating women with temperature or fever.
What is the procedure?
Initially, the doctor evaluates the wart and performs dermatoscopy. The test helps determine whether the wart is malignant. Only benign warts are removed by laser, and malignant warts are removed surgically. The doctor precisely aims the laser beams at the cells that make up the wart and destroys them.

WART REMOVAL
For the procedure, we can use one of the most effective methods of removing warts and other skin formations – liquid nitrogen or otherwise known as “cold” therapy (cryotherapy). Another treatment option is laser wart removal. It is an effective, safe and painless procedure that removes unwanted warts. Laser removal is a safe, fast and effective way to remove warts, because the surrounding tissues are not damaged during the procedure, discomfort is minimal, and the probability of wart recurrence is low. Removal of warts is possible in all parts of the body – both on the face and on the genitals. After the removal of warts in various parts of the body, the skin looks more aesthetic and healthy, and almost no removal marks remain after the procedure.
Warts - what are they?
Warts are a viral skin disease caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). This infection manifests as growths of skin cells of various sizes and can occur anywhere on the body. Warts can be of various types. Common warts usually appear on the hands and face. These are raised skin formations with a rough surface. If the warts are not large, they do not cause any complaints or discomfort, except when they appear in the aesthetic area. If the common wart forms on the sole or is larger, it can become painful and sensitive to touch. It causes pain when walking, standing. Plantar warts form on the soles of the feet, they grow deep and are very often confused with calluses.
Is it necessary to remove warts?
Most of the time, warts do not cause complications and are removed for aesthetic, psychological discomfort reasons. They can also disappear on their own without treatment. Because warts are caused by the human papillomavirus, warts are easily contagious. Moist, soaked skin is not resistant to the virus, so warts are usually contracted in swimming pools and saunas. In addition, with weakened immunity or the use of immunosuppressive drugs, they can begin to grow, spread throughout the body, and sometimes even become angry. A wart grown on the sole is constantly traumatized when walking, so it can start to hurt.

How does liquid nitrogen treatment work?
Under normal conditions, nitrogen is a gas, and nitrogen gas turns into a liquid at about −195.6 °C, making liquid nitrogen the best refrigerant. Nitrogen that gets on the wart freezes the cytoplasm of the cells, causing the cells to die and the wart to die. After only 1 minute of contact with liquid nitrogen, the skin at a depth of 2 mm cools down to −90 °C, and after 2 min. -125°C. Depending on the location, size and type of wart, the doctor selects the required duration of liquid nitrogen application and determines the number of procedures. In the case of a short duration of liquid nitrogen application, the procedure is not painful, but if longer applications are required, the doctor can use local anesthetics. A blister, a dark scab may form at the site of the procedure. The blisters themselves burst immediately after the procedure, and lymph flows out of them. If the blister peels off before the skin forms, a small wound is left that needs to be protected from contamination. Your doctor will provide you with detailed post-procedure care recommendations.
What makes liquid nitrogen treatment better than other treatments?
Is one procedure enough to remove a wart?
We often want a skin growth that has been growing for several years to be removed at once, in one procedure. However, depending on the size, type and location of the wart, 3-6 treatments may be required. For example, plantar warts grow deep and are often covered with a fairly thick layer of calloused skin, so they can take longer to heal. The doctor will inform you about the more precise number of procedures you need during the consultation. Attention should be paid to the fact that it is necessary to carry out all the procedures prescribed by the doctor, and the intervals between the procedures should not be very long, otherwise the wart will not be completely removed and it may grow again later.
