Every woman must have regular check-ups with a gynecologist, at least once a year – this helps prevent diseases. However, it is not always possible to consult a gynecologist, although it is very important to do so. Illnesses that are not treated in this way worsen, become complicated, and the treatment process becomes even more complicated. During the examination, the external sex organs, vagina, cervix are examined in the gynecological chair, the uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries, and small pit are assessed by palpation. Also, swabs, cultures from the vagina and cervix are taken for testing for infections. A gynecologist determines pathologies of a woman’s genital organs, prescribes examinations and treatment. Various gynecological diseases can affect a woman’s fertility, pregnancy, sex life and overall psychological well-being.

Ultrasound, blood or other tests are prescribed for diagnostic purposes.
Cervical oncocytology (PAP) is a test for cervical cancer. A woman can avoid cervical cancer by doing it once a year. With this test, it is possible to diagnose various precancerous lesions of the cervix, which are treated with minimal interventions. A colposcopy is also performed – examination of the cervix with an optical device, and the internal organs of the female sex (uterus, ovaries) are examined with ultrasound. Abdominal and vaginal echoscopies are performed. Uterine polyps, fibroids, ovarian cysts, pregnancy can be diagnosed during it.
Breasts are also examined during the examination. A gynecologist’s consultation is always necessary when there is pain in the lower abdomen or in the loin area, bleeding unrelated to menstruation, heavy or irregular menstruation, missed periods, itching in the vagina and perineum, increased secretions, and the appearance of unpleasant odors.
